This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. In life we are surrounded by people and yet we are moving so fast we have become mentally blinded by labels and stereotypes which make us bias and limited towards the way we interact with people. I want to invite society to see the value of eradicating mental blindness to value human potential . By focussing in the story of the person, you get to open lots of doors and opportunities which allow the individual to reach its full potential. My proposal is to drop the label and start asking why, how and what people do and then you will be able to connect with the authentic person, changing the way people relate, having and impact in the recruitment system within schools and companies who are not asking the right questions to identify the talent. Gina is a professional photographer and social entrepreneur facilitating stories that aim to eradicate mental blindness in order to value human potential and strengthen human capital. She is focusing on authentic leadership to create solutions to develop and manage talent plus support organisational culture change. she believes that by creating true dialogue, bottom up, there is a better understanding of the roots to problems to be solved. She has been globally recognized for her achievements in this area by the World Economic Forum as a Young Global Leader(YGL), by the Queen with a British Empire Medal (BEM) , as well as by Ashoka as a Fellow Social Entrepreneur. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
