Excise department to re-survey the liquor shops which are located near State and National highways. Goa Excise Department had considered aerial view to measure  distance of road between the highways and liquor shops. Which affected nearly 500 outlets in the state. Now government will ask Excise Department to consider approach road distance between liquor outlets and highways.
 According to Goa Liquor Association, Chief Minister Manohar parrikar has asked the Goa Excise Department to count distance considering approach road. It will give relief to those 500 liquor outlets who were closed due to aerial view.

Sources from Excise Department informed that as of now no such order  has been received by Excise Department from Chief Minister's office. Once they receive the order it will be put before the committee which was constituted to look into the liquor outlets issue. The same will be forwarded to Land survey department, PWD and concerns Mamlatdars will be asked to do resurvey of those liquor outlets which are distance more than 500 meters away from State and National highways. This time distance will be measure considering approach road distance. It will give relief to nearly 500 liquor outlets.
