In recent decades, the U.S. has made great strides in ensuring that those who experience mental illness and substance use disorders have access to affordable treatment services. However, changing health care priorities are jeopardizing some of those gains. Hear about ways to protect and advance policies that support access to this essential aspect of health care. Panelists include: - Chuck Ingoglia, senior vice president of public policy and practice improvement for the National Council for Behavioral Health - Wendy White Tiegreen, director of Medicaid and health system innovation for the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities - Sharon (Sherry) Jenkins Tucker, executive director of the Georgia Mental Health Consumer Network, Inc. Moderator - Andy Miller, CEO and editor of Georgia Health News The Artist - Matt Sullivan is an Atlanta-based graphic recorder. He listens to a conversation and draws what he hears, bringing connections, themes, and insights to life. The result is a real-time visual depiction of a presentation, panel discussion, or dialogue. Founded in 1982 by former U.S. President Jimmy Carter and former First Lady Rosalynn Carter in partnership with Emory University, The Carter Center is committed to advancing human rights and alleviating unnecessary human suffering.
