Hoops for Smiles makes winners! Our Hoops for Smiles program was created to help educate and develop future leaders about the benefits of giving back to children in need born with facial deformities. Through athletics, and the sport of basketball in particular, Operation Smile's global mission - to heal the smiles of children around the world - is further enhanced and strengthened. Basketball is one of the most popular sports in the world. A child's first basket ignites a smile equal in some ways to the first smile of a healed cleft patient. A smile is also a spark that ignites the flame of caring and the imagination of a new and better future. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rules: 5-on-5 teams (Extra members will be considered subs). Two 10 minute halves or a team is up by 30 points (Whichever comes first). 3-2-1 scoring points: 3 from the top of the key, 2 from inside the key, and 1 from the foul line. Single Elimination games. Good luck and have fun. Prizes will consist of signed basketballs and gift cards to the winning team. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ *List of Sponsors (To date)* -ODU Sigma Nu: www.facebook.com/SigmaNuHX -Rockstar Energy ODU: www.facebook.com/RockstarEnergyODU If you have any questions or would like more information on how to play in this tournament, or if you are willing to sponsor this event, contact Peter Langlands at [email protected] or Tim Brownlee [email protected].
