There are some guitars out there that inspire you to play better than you normally do. This cherry red cutie has a lot of the traits we seek out in semi-hollows: warm, deep, clear bass response, touch-sensitive highs, and lush frequency response. But, this one is special because it has a little bit of extra attitude in the midrange. Specifically, there is some snarl and rasp in the upper midrange that suggests that this semi-hollow carries a little bit of Angus Young's spirit within its maple center block.

We found it hard to peel ourselves away from the neck pickup, because it has a glorious combination of weight and bite. The full, deep bass response ensures that single-note lines have plenty of mass and heft, but that extra snarl provides a pleasing counterpoint to the chest-rumbling lows(to mention, it sounds pretty punchy for a neck pickup, so you'll smash right through the mix). Add some sweet, singing highs into the equation, and you get a pretty delightful sonic cocktail!

When we were able to tear ourselves away from the neck pickup, the bridge position greeted us with a cornucopia of new fun sounds! It has tighter lows with more muscle than gristle to go with sparkling highs and the much-bandied-about bite that we am so enamored with. It's hard to imagine a better rock semi-hollow rhythm sound: crunchy, full of sparkly overtones, but with enough midrange power to punch through the mix. We loved it for just about any rhythm guitar usage, and we also loved the way it made us want to play nastay leads (not nasty leads--nastay. It's an important distinction).
