A private investigator in Port Moresby is recovering after he was badly assaulted by who he claims were drunken policemen who were in civilian clothing at the time of the assault. 45-year-old Turi Kuruwa from Eastern Highlands province says he was traveling home with his wife when he was confronted by the group of police men at Morata, about 100 meters away from his home. After a few questions, he was ordered to drive back to Waigani Police Station for further questioning; however, when he asked if the police could escort him back, he was punched in the right eye, and dragged out of his vehicle.
