Something really different for my channel: music that is NOT being performed by myself (a first for my channel), :-O
The wonderful man who has been tuning my piano for the last 20+ years plays the guitar (primarily bass), and is in a number of groups. Over the years, they have put out a number of CDs of instrumental music, & I've been trying to enourage him to upload several of the CDs together as a really long video (because I think people like longer videos), but he's not all that much into YouTube and the net, so, with permission, I have put together a video containing tracks from 3 of the CDs.
There are three different groups: Amakudari (Huw Davies - Guitar, Sitar, Guitanjo, Keyboards, Vibes, Mandolin; Jay Taylor - Bass, Guitar, Mandolin, Percussion, Keyboards; and Greg Gardner - Drums, Percussion, Guitar. Bill Spornitz contributes Accordion on tracks 8 & 13; Ron Mymryck contributes congas on track 1) & their CD - Hypnostique' (which has a romantic and exotic flavour). All songs are by Amakudari.
'Love Spells' (a more lively percussion CD for the modern Beatnik) is by "The Spazz-Sticks" (Jay Taylor, Greg Gardner, John Hudson and Jeff Konwalchuk playing percussion).
'Just Pretend You Don't See Them' (somewhat folky, jazzy and even a little classical at times) is by Jay Taylor & Fred Redekop; Greg Gardner contributes percussion and Maro Casillo contributes vocal percussion on track 6. All songs by Fred Redekop & Jay Taylor
I hope you will enjoy this compilation even though it is greatly different in style than what I normally post here. (I will of course be posting more of my own material shortly :-) ).
You can buy some of these albums (as well as many others) and/or MP3's from 'CDBaby' - an organization that specializes in the distribution and promotion of independently produced CDs.
Here are some links to their pages on CDBaby ("Love Spells" does not seem to be there, but the other two albums are):
