Spotify has shared its annual end of year music figures, which reveal the top artists of the year - here are the most listened to ladies of 2018.

Spotify has shared its annual end of year music figures, which reveal the top artists of the year - here are the most listened to ladies of 2018. 
 
Taking the top spot is pop sensation Ariana Grande following the release of her highly anticipated sweetener album as well as dropping her surprise single thank u, next – which became the fastest song in Spotify history to surpass 100 million streams.
 
Ariana wasn’t the only one to break records, as British singer, Dua Lipa, also made YouTube history as the youngest female artist to hit one billion views on a music video, she was the second most streamed female Spotify artist of 2018 globally, and first in the UK.
 
Third on the list was Cardi B who also made history in April with 14 songs on the 50-position Billboard Streaming Songs chart –the rapper broke the record held by Beyoncé for 12 songs in May 2016, all from her 2016 album Lemonade.
 
Taylor Swift was fourth on the list and it's been a great year for the pop star with her Reputation tour grossing $315 million, being the highest-grossing concert tour of the year.
 
Last on the list was rising star Camila Cabello, who joined Taylor on her Reputation this year. The former fifth harmony member released her eponymous debut album, Camila, in January, and it quickly reached number one on the Billboard 200 chart in the United States.
