'1812' Overture - Stokowski conducts 2 finales!

On 15 June 1969, Leopold Stokowski conducted the RPO in an all-Russian programme in London's Royal Albert Hall that featured Tchaikovsky's '1812' Overture. Although a chorus was on hand for Borodin's 'Polovtsian Dances' they were not used in this 'live' performance. However, a few days later, in Kingsway Hall, he recorded the '1812' in 'Phase-4 Stereo' but this time he brought the chorus in. Stokowski also sprang an extra surprise at the very end of '1812' in 'Phase-4 Stereo' as will be heard in this video!
