Most of the time my videos show these plants catching their prey, but have you ever wondered what happens next? While the entire digestive process typically takes a couple of weeks, I wanted to show what happens in the following few minutes after the trap closes. This video turned out better than I had expected it to, many because of how smoothly the trap created an air tight seal. When it first closes, it doesn't close entirely. This is to allow prey that is too small to be considered a meal time to leave the trap. Then it closes around the prey and forms an air tight seal to keep bacteria out and release its digestive enyzmes.
