Marilla Ricker campaigned for Governor of New Hampshire in 1910, when she was 70 years old, but was denied because at that time women did not have the vote. She lived to see the 19th ammendment passed, which gave women the right to vote. She died 3 months later at age 80 on Nov. 12, 1920. Marilla Ricker is played by Sheila Rosevear. This is part of a performance of "Presidents and Politicians," Historic Visits to Dover Revealed. November 2007 Produced by Dover Main Street, underwritten by Foster's Daily Democrat, Dover, New Hampshire. http://www.dovermainstreet.org
