HYDERABAD: B Sanjiva Reddy of Dharmarajupalem, on Thursday, became the proud owner of a new passbook when Telangana chief Minister KCR handed him the first cheque while launching the Rythu Bandhu Scheme at Dharmarajupalle-Indiranagar in Huzurabad constituency of the Karimnagar district on Thursday.
The sceme will ensure, farmers will get Rs 8,000 per acre per year for two crops.

"Of 2.9 crore acres land in the state, about 2.3 crore acres of land have been verified and around 1.4 crore acres of them have been identified as cultivable land. Whether they take up cultivation or not, the government will issue cheques as well as passbooks to all 58 lakh eligible farmers for this season,” Chandrashekhar Rao announced.
