Christina Fernandez-Valle has a Ph.D. in cellular and molecular biology.  She teaches course in neurobiology.  Her research concentrates on Schwann cells, which provide insulation so nerves can transmit electrical signals.  Bob Hoekstra has a Ph.D. in engineering and a master's of design.  His interests range from high-performance engines and alternative fuels to sound, lighting and interior design. (2007)
