Holiday makers along the Eastern Cape coast have been blessed with great weather and the beaches have been packed throughout the holidays. New Year's day will be the pinnacle beach day and cities like Port Elizabeth and East London are preparing for the sharp increase in beach visitors for the day. Beach safety is paramount and at least eight drownings have been recorded in the two cities this December. Three of those were in East London.
