Brooklyn Grange is the world's largest rooftop farm, and City Growers is a program that uses the farm to teach children about agriculture and nature. "Why can't a farm exist in the city? Why can't the city be a city, but also farmland? And does a farm have to just be a farm? Why can't it be part of a hospital, a public housing project, and as our students so often ask, a school?" TEDxCity2.0 http://www.ted.com/tedx/events/10339 In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
