I love Gregg Allman, but my favorite solo album of his is the mellow, intelligent "Laid Back". Last night's performance as anything but. I didn't come to a Gregg Allman concert to hear Mr. Groovy-SaxiFlute or Mr. Jittery-Piano... BORING! Did I mention that his guitarist SUCKED... or that the arrangements were done by a carny on meth? Having said that... I still love Gregg Allman, but I guess the truth is I mostly love and admire his contribution to The Allman Brothers Band! It's hard to meet your heros. I bought a dvd of a Neil Young concert in Berlin. It's back in the 80s and he does reggae version... of "Cortez the Killer"... a reggae version... Neil Young trivializes his own masterwork. One of the greatest rock songs of all time... a piece whose essence is brooding seriousness... is ruined by... NEIL YOUNG! :-#
