Flagpole Hinge Base Up close Before Install. This is a detailed look at the hinged-base optional kit for a 40 foot fiberglass flagpole. This hinge base plate option allows you to raise and lower the entire flagpole with ease so that any maintenance can be done. This is for a 40 foot fiberglass hurricane rated flagpole that uses an 8 Ft. X 12 Ft. flag. Being that the flagpole is fiberglass the weight of the flagpole will be less than 1/3 of a similar 40 ft aluminum flagpole.
