JLCPCB for $2 PCBs (48 hours build time):https://jlcpcb.com

A linear actuator design was my inspiration to start this project. With the knowledge of making a CNC machine I decided to use a stepper motor to make a camera slider. You may ask why a stepper motor. It was cheap and easily available. On second thoughts I could have used DC motor too. The build is pretty strong and take the weight of a DSLR Camera like Canon 5D Mark IV.

All the programmings are written using Arduino and the A4988 stepper motor driver is used. The main power source is 12v with 2amps. The project taught me how to code, make PCB and manufacture.

I tired making channel letters with CNC and Foam sheet. The Foam sheet was 4mm thick and easily bendable and wherever it did not I used some blow torch to soften it and bent it. The MDF was 8mm thick and it was thick enough for me to staple the foam board to the MDF. At the back I use some normal AC bulb holders and screwed them first. Then I ran the wiring in parallel and switched on the power.

As the foam board was painted it was easier for me hide the staple marks after sanding.
