Miracle dog learns to walk again

Pay de Limon, a dog whose legs were allegedly amputated by drug traffickers in Mexico City, has been given a new lease of life thanks to prosthetic limbs. The dog, whose name means "lemon pie" was found in a rubbish bin last February, and taken to the Milagros Caninos -- or "Dog Miracles" -- sanctuary in Mexico City. The centre's founder Patricia Ruiz said Pay's legs had been removed after apparently being mutilated by local drug traffickers. After receiving extensive treatment, Pay was fitted with prosthetic front legs which had been sent from the United States. He is now able to walk, run and play again. Pay de Limon is one of 128 abused or abandoned dogs living in the animal sanctuary which is the only one of its kind in Mexico.
