Dr Obadiah Mailafia PhD DPhil.Oxon born 26 December 1956 is the current African Democratic Congress (ADC) Nigerian Presidential Candidate who emerged from the ADC Party Primaries held in Abuja on 7 October 2018. Dr Mailafia is a development economist, public finance expert and political theorist by training. He is by vocation a banker and international civil servant with 34 years of experience that has taken him through much of Africa, Europe, the Caribbean and the Pacific islands. In 2005 served as Deputy Governor for Economic Policy at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN); playing a leading role in the banking consolidation and macroeconomic policy reforms of those years.
