Watch the sights, sounds and post match interviews from the fantastic action packed Co-operative Championships Finals Day. Featherstone 22-23 Halifax Halifax battle back to triumph Ben Black secured a dramatic 22-23 victory for Halifax - and a #100,000 prize - with a golden-point drop goal in Sunday's Co-operative Championship Grand Final at Warrington. The game to be looked over when Featherstone opened up a 22-4 lead after 53 minutes thanks to a second try from teenage winger Zak Hardaker but underdogs Halifax roared back to level and send the game into extra-time. Veteran stand-off Graham Holroyd had already been off target with two drop-goal attempts to break the deadlock in normal time but his half-back partner Black had more luck in the second minute of added time to complete the most unlikely of fightbacks. It was a tremendous climax to an evening of high drama at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, where an outbreak of fire in the West Stand caused a 45-minute hold-up 32 minutes into the game. Featherstone had beaten Halifax three times already this season and there seemed little likelihood of an upset as they dominated the first hour. Halifax had the satisfaction of scoring the first - and the best - try when winger Rob Worrincy, the fastest man outside Super League, went the full length of the field after 19 minutes to open the scoring. Stand-off Kyle Briggs equalised for Rovers eight minutes later and they looked to have taken a firm grip when Hardaker scored his first try and Matty Dale added another four minutes into the second half. But Black, man of the match in Halifax's defeat by Barrow in last year's final, sparked the amazing fightback, scoring their second try on 55 minutes before sending centre Luke Branighan over for another four minutes later. Substitute Stephen Bannister grabbed a fourth try six minutes from the end and Lee Paterson's goal tied the scores - but that was only the start of the dramatic finale. Oldham 4-25 York Sunday 26th September 2010 York secure promotion Australian Dave Woods is the man with the Midas touch after taking a third club to promotion in six years as Oldham experienced final heartbreak for the fourth year in a row. after a 25-4 defeat to York Woods, who took Castleford into Super League in 2005 and got Gateshead promoted from League Two in 2008, completed the hat-trick with York in today's Co-operative Championship One play-off final just three months after succeeding James Ratcliffe as coach. The City Knights finished third in the table, 13 points adrift of second-placed Oldham, but dominated today's final at Warrington's Halliwell Jones Stadium from start to finish to claim an emphatic victory. Former Sheffield, London Broncos, Huddersfield and Hull stand-off Chris Thorman was the architect of York's success, scoring one of their four tries and kicking two goals and a drop goal Wayne Reittie, James Haynes and Steve Lewis got the Knights' other tries and Lee Waterman kicked two goals while Mick Fogerty scored Oldham's solitary points with a 19th-minute try that briefly brought them level at 4-4. York's victory enabled captain Jordan Ross to bow out on a high as he prepares for a new life Down Under. While the Knights will join champions Hunslet in the Championship in 2011, the Roughyeds were condemned to another season in the lower division after suffering a fourth play-off final defeat in as many years.
