Respiratory Virus: We are meeting the challenge

http://www.cincinnatichildrens.org A message to Cincinnati Children's employees Thanks for all of the efforts by many this week to deal with the high patient volume and "respiratory surge." Many have put in lots of extra hours to make different arrangements to handle the volume, keep patients, families and staff safe from these viruses and deal with many worried parents. We have plans in place to deal with the high clinical volumes of respiratory illnesses, likely due to EV-D68. While this is not a new virus and most children will have relatively minor illnesses, the sheer numbers have stretched our resources. After careful discussion, we have made the difficult decision to implement our "Visitor Restrictions" until we see a significant decrease in the spread of these respiratory viruses.
