(12 Dec 2018) STORYLINE:
Yemen's Foreign Minister Khaled al-Yamani said on Wednesday that talks between the country's warring parties were aimed at establishing "durable peace in Yemen."
Al-Yamani told The Associated Press on Wednesday in the Swedish town of Rimbo, where the current round of United Nations-sponsored peace talks was underway, that the venue for the next round hasn't been decided yet.
Yemen's Iran-backed Houthi rebels and the government side are to wrap up this round in Sweden on Thursday after a week of negotiations at a castle in Rimbo.
Al-Yamani said the government has made proposals to re-establish domestic flights from Sana'a airport and to withdraw military forces near the port city of Hodeida if rebels withdraw from their fighters from the city.
Al-Yamani said there was a place for the Houthis in the political landscape of Yemen if they put down their weapons.
