This is my hello-world (1st) test of character rig in Blender 3D spinning poi! I'm using Blender Cookie's freely available character rig: Cookie Flex Rig 1.2 and mating it with my own poi control structure. This 4-petal Isolated Antispin pattern is demonstrating 3rd order motion capabilities of the rig. ---- I use my own rig in Blender 3D (as I've done in the past) to animate just the poi. BTW Blender is freely available on Windows, Mac OS, & Linux. For the character, all I basically did was attach the character rig's IK hand targets to my poi handles and then animate the torso turning (simple as 2 keyframes & setting a loop cycle). Then I did some very minimal animation of the elbow IK solvers to remove glitchy elbow behavior in a few spots and loop cycle that. You can see that the left arm is not as well done as the right... I was tired and just wanted to render it overnight. Soon I'll figure out how to simply grab the animation data from the right arm, mirror it to the left and the offset it in time as needed. ---- Free resources Blender 3D: http://www.blender.org/download Cookie Flex Rig 1.2: http://cgcookie.com/blender/2012/12/14/cg-cookie-flex-rig-download
