Following the, ahem, fall of the Ostrogoths, Bussie and I were eager to jump in to Attila again. The Terminus Imperium came to me highly recommended so we decided to give it a shot. We discovered that it was possible to play as a neo-Sparta (Corinthian Revolt) with massively powerful armies but a small, difficult start. Better, they were allied to Crete, the foremost naval power in the Mediterranean, and both in open revolt against the Byzantine Empire. 

With Spartan strength on land, and Cretan power at sea it seemed like a match made in heaven for our particular play styles and interests.
