JD Elquist is a community-minded self-starter who has a passion for men's fashion and design. Merging his desire to support local community and to design menswear, Elquist began his own clothing company. The J.Elquist Clothiers collection is currently being made in the greater Seattle area reflecting Elquist's heart to grow the local economy. His vision for community does not end with fashion design. Elquist is the founder of a community based Tacoma organization, Camp 6. The Camp 6 website focuses on raising awareness of the merchants, style and culture that make up the community of Tacoma. This is accomplished by weekly updated website content as well as numerous community events held throughout each month. It is the vision and intent for Camp 6 to be the catalyst for social interaction amongst the different cultures and lifestyles that make the community of Tacoma so unique. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
