Migrants waiting on Bosni's border with Croatia face colder weather

(19 Nov 2018) Thousands of migrants stuck in northwestern Bosnia are facing tough times as the weather took a turn for the worse with the approach of the harsh Balkan winter. Many migrants in Bosnia are staying in makeshift camps that they set up themselves, with no heating or other facilities. They light many small fires and sit around them warming their hands and prepare food. With the temperatures dropping in the past few days after a mild autumn, migrants have wrapped themselves in blankets and donned jackets and caps for warmth. Migrants and refugees fleeing war and poverty have been flocking in northwestern Bosnia hoping to cross to neighbouring European Union member Croatia and move on toward wealthy EU nations.
