It was striking to see exactly how thin the cymbal was — our booth tour guide Bulent was able to grab either side of the cymbal with both hands and easily bend the edges upward. This thin weight lends a particularly dark sound to the flat ride, which is saying something, since flat rides traditionally have a dark sound.
