Facelift surgery is more complex than is perceived and Dr. Ghavami feels that to get long lasting results and to affect the appropriate natural facial changes, more surgical time is needed in order to address deeper structures of the face and neck. Twin facelifts were performed by Dr. Ashkan Ghavami and Dr. Payman Simoni. Dr. Simoni performed his 1 hour facelift (Simoni Lift(TM)). Dr. Ghavami's technique is more involved and addresses deeper structures, requiring general anesthesia while the other surgeon performed a "1 Hour Facelift" under local anesthesia. We will leave it up to the public to decide if a comprehensive approach like Dr. Ghavami's (deeper facelift, neck lift, fat transfer to the cheeks) is the best method for appropriate surgical rejuvenation. After 24 to 48 hours, the recovery process for the twins was actually not that different. While the 1 hour twin facelift patient had more bruising, the other patient had a bit more swelling (likely from the fat transfer).
