My brother-in-law Jack "Chief" Orr (RIP), was a door gunner on a UH-1H Huey with A-Company, 25th Aviation Battalion, 25 inf. also known by the call sign, "Little Bears", who served his country - 2 tours in Republic of Vietnam in 1969. He was stationed in the Iron Triangle, Cu-Chi. We are honoring him here on Armed Forces Day. He was proud of his nephew Reece for flying helos with the Ft. Washakie Helitack fire service in 2015. Jack said he loved flying helos. A member of the Walker River Paiute Tribe, he was proud of his service to the country. The tribe honored him and other tribal veterans each year. Jack always spoke out for Indian rights, especially for Shoshones in Eastern Nevada. yep he was an activist and I admired and looked up to him for that. I’m sure he was mad at the rate unarmed Indians were being killed by cops, although we didn’t talk about it, knowing him he’d be right there protesting it like Kap...just my thoughts,

At the end of the video, my son is holding a patch memorializing the 19 Granite Mtn. Hotshots who perished in a fast moving fire in Northern Arizona in 2013. The whole crew was killed except for one. He carries it with him during his wildland firefighting assignments. What blows me away is that Reece is 22 years old, the same age as his Uncle Jack when he was in Vietnam. My mind can't even comprehend that.

Kaep, you came out to Alcatraz to support us Indians, I’ll take a knee with you any day👍🏻
