A quick trip into the lower reaches of Red Canyon near Smith Valley, Nevada. This road will take you through the Pine Nut Mountains to US 395, Gardnerville or up to Mount Siegel or Oreana Peak. The canyon gets its name from the distinctive red rock at the entrance. A fire burned near here several years ago but spared Red Canyon...thankfully.
