TT Student Arrested For Attempting To Steal Plane At Florida Airport

A 22-year-old T&T National has been charged for attempting to steal a passenger jet that was undergoing maintenance at Florida's Orlando Melbourne International Airport. According to international reports, Nishal Sankat, who's a student pilot at the Florida Institute of Technology, parked his vehicle curbside around 2am before jumping the fence, running across the apron, and boarding the American Airlines Airbus A321. US law enforcement says a maintenance supervisor and a technician were aboard the aircraft when one noticed a shadow. The employees grabbed the man and took him off the aircraft. The Melbourne Police Department, FBI, and Joint Terrorism Task Force responded to the scene. Authorities searched Sankat's red sedan with a robotic arm before towing it away around 7:30am. Sankat will remain in police custody, and reports say he is also facing charges of criminal trespassing and a Visa violation.
