Excerpt from Phil Agland's film "Baka: A Cry From the Rainforest" shown during the Forest Voices Tour Two Baka men discuss their situation Many of the Baka in Cameroon have heard of Baka Gbiné as they are the only all Baka band to get their music played on Cameroon radio and television. When they heard that they would be playing in their village they all came. After the concert we showed a series of short films. We chose films that were in Baka and where Baka were discussing life, the universe and everything. It proved to be incredibly empowering to people who are told daily that they have no value because they are "Pygmies". We then gave the Baka villagers the chance to speak to camera so that their voices too could be heard. We are planning another tour in 2015.
