Spectacular fireworks have been set off around the globe as millions braved freezing temperatures to welcome in the New Year. In London, tens of thousands gathered along the River Thames as Big Ben struck midnight, and in Edinburgh, a hundred thousand turned out for the outdoor Hogmanay celebrations. Paul Brennan reports.
