Acoustic Guitar - Episode #011, Chordal Picking technique (using a guitar pick) is one of the best ways to play through a chord if you're after a sound that both breaks apart the chord voicing and also develops an effect that can mimic finger-picking, (but done with a flat-pick instead of with your fingers). Just as with finger-picking, the chordal picked technique can allow for unique patterns to emerge across chords used in your music... Those picked patterns can either be altered through a riff, or they can be maintained in a similar way through a riff. But, however you apply chordal picking, the sharp attack & bright dynamics it produces (with the flat-pick approach) will make for a fantastic sound on acoustic guitar.
