Basking in a shaft of light from those first rays of spring sunshine isn't just refreshing for us humans. One of our remote cameras captured this precious footage of a wolf enjoying one of the first nice days of the year a year ago near the Bow Valley Parkway. Late April is a sensitive time of year for all wildlife - wolves have had pups, travelling tremendous distances to bring food back to their den; male grizzly bears are roaming the valleys for food and female bears are emerging from their dens with cubs. That's why we've taken extra measures to give them space on the Bow Valley Parkway. There's a mandatory seasonal travel restriction in place until June 25th along the eastern section of the parkway http://bit.ly/1u11etM and an area closure near Hillsdale http://bit.ly/1mXqEEA to help provide wildlife with just a bit more space to roam - or just a few more minutes of basking.
