Had been bowling left handed (for the first time) using some old ambidextrous shoes I had.  This was my first right-handed delivery attempt that day.  Well, I forgot to test the slide pad on my left shoe before I made the attempt.   Turns out it really didn't slide much.   Coupled with my poor form (left foot turned, arm swing behind the back, hand not behind the ball), I paid the price.   Fortunately my elbow took most of the impact.  The pain was gone within a minute or two.
