Johnny Morris says he's fixing up the historic Ozark Mill
Bass Pro's Johnny Morris owns the nearly 200-year-old mill.
It weighs more than 400-tons, is more than 200-feet-long and 60-feet- wide.  Amazingly, the whole thing, in one piece is being moved about 30-feet into the street so a new, "flood-proof" foundation can be built.

Then, it will move back to it's spot on the Finley River.

It's being moved with rollers on steel beams, creating a Railroad track-type scenario.

Mills were a place of gathering for the community and he (Johnny Morris) wants to recreate that feeling, with all the good times. It's going to be a public venue so people can come and enjoy it," Bass Pro Shops Communication Manager Katie Mitchell said.

"This is really going to be something that pulls people off the highway, certainly with it being located between Springfield and Branson. This is going to be new retail and new entertainment so it's not just going to be good for the citizens of Ozark but I tell you, it's gonna bring a lot of people in from a lot of places," Ozark City Administrator Steve Childers told KY3.
