Though coming a long way, the road ahead for women in Colombia is arduous, as cultural assumptions are deeply rooted and difficult to break through. In her talk, Maria Antonia Mosquera explores why domestic violence towards women continues to be a major problem for women in Latin America. 17-year-old Maria Antonia Mosquera grew up in Colombia and is interested in modeling and fashion. She has seen first-hand the misconceptions and assumptions of women in Latin America and hopes to change those ideas through education.
