Highlights from the Baftas 2014 ceremony, which saw 12 Years a Slave pick up two awards, for best film and best leading actor.

Slavery drama 12 Years A Slave picked up two of the big awards at this year's Baftas, for best film and best leading actor for Chiwetel Ejiofor performance.

Its director Steve McQueen accepted the best film gong and thanked his "one and only mother for having the faith, never give up".

He told the audience: "there are 21 million people in slavery as we sit here. I just hope 150 years from now our ambivalence will not allow another film-maker to make this film".

Dame Helen Mirren was presented with her Bafta Fellowship award by the Duke of Cambridge.

As the Duke presented the award he joked he should probably call the actress "granny", as she won an Oscar for her leading role, playing his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, in The Queen.

Helen Mirren, 68, said she was "almost speechless" at receiving the honor, whose previous recipients include Charlie Chaplin, Alfred Hitchcock, Elizabeth Taylor and Judi Dench.
