School, author continue support for Kyler and family

Fairfield, Ohio (Perry Schaible) -- Kyler Bradley's story touched the hearts of the Fairfield community. Kyler is fighting the same inoperable cancer that Lauren Hill battled last year. The school Kyler calls home is giving back yet again. The student, staff and community have rallied around Kyler and his family. Sarah Curry Rathel, from the Ronald McDonald House, wrote a children's book called "There's Something Different About My Hair." She will talk about the book and the writing process to the students Friday at Fairfield Intermediate School. "I feel like this book in general, the point of it was to share and to give kids who are going through illnesses or kids that are perfectly normal a chance to share the same message. I feel like it's important to give back so they can see that's something they can do too," Rathel said. 90% of the money raised Friday through the book sales will go to the Bradley family. The other 10% goes to the Ronald McDonald House. Assistant Principal Missy Muller said, "This is an opportunity for them to think about someone else and show some empathy. It really kind of puts life into perspective." There are other events going on this weekend to raise money for Kyler and his family.
