The older Kodak Zi8 pocket video and still camera can be found for sale online and in places where used cameras are sold. We looked at it as an emergency back-up when no other camera was available. Sure, it has its limits, but 1080 30p and 720 60p video, plus clear still images, make it our choice for that pocket back-up. We keep it in a soft protective pouch. How many times have you missed a shot because you didn't bring your bigger camera and don't use a smart phone for that? Our used Zi8 cost $24.99 (battery and SD cad extra); prices varied widely when we researched this in January 2014.
