Andrea Campbell never imagined that the Boston City Council would be the platform to share her family's story, a story painfully impacted by incarceration and loss, including the loss of her twin brother. Now in her second term on the Council, and as the first black woman to serve as its President, Campbell discusses how sharing our personal stories and histories, and intentionally creating spaces to do so in government, allows us to be better leaders, build trust, and make government more inclusive. x This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
