Joni Sheila is a half-philippino, half-belgian singer-songwriter and street musician. She was born the 17th of November 1989 in Louvain and grew up in Ghent. She was named after Joni Mitchell. This young lady has never had singing lessons but has a powerful voice. She taught herself to play the guitar at the age of 17 and has gained a lot of experience throughout the years. Currently she is going to record her first EP that has been financed independently through a crowdfunding campaign. Joni Sheila can still be found busking in the streets. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
