Hii! I'm Krissy and I'm Filipina American, and October is Filipinx American Hxstory Month! So I'm sharing with you all today my TOP 6 PINAYS TO PAY ATTENTION TO righttt meow.

✿ Why the 'x' in Filipinx and hxstory? ✿
Great question! the 'x' allows me to be inclusive of multiple genders that exist in our world. language is important to me, and I want queer & trans folx to know that they are honored and respected here.

✿ What's the difference between Filipinx American Hxstory Month and Heritage Month? ✿
Dr. Dawn Mabalon names that the difference between hxstory and heritage is that hxstory is about the events, experiences, and lives of people in our community, their impact on society, and the political, cultural, and economic events & moments that shape their lives. Heritage only refers to cultural traditions handed down from the past.
