Tim Beck, principal of Sto-Rox High School in Mckees Rocks, Pa., talks about the realities of preparing students for the future in a school where about half of graduates go immediately into the workforce.

At Sto-Rox, where about 77 percent of the students live in poverty, the realities of preparing students for the future are tough.  About half of the school’s students go directly into the workforce upon graduation, often in low-paying jobs in the service sector.  The school is struggling to integrate ed tech into its curriculum to help prepare students for a better future, but it has been a steep climb.  Beck talks about the realities of preparing his students for what they will face upon graduation.
