ಬನ್ನೇರುಘಟ್ಟ ಜೈವಿಕ ಉದ್ಯಾನವನಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಸ ಅತಿಥಿ ಆಗಮನವಾಗಿದೆ. ಮೈಸೂರಿನ ಶ್ರೀ ಚಾಮರಾಜೇಂದ್ರ ಮೃಗಾಲಯದಿಂದ ಗೌರಿ ಎಂಬ ಜಿರಾಫೆಯನ್ನ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿನ ಬನ್ನೇರುಘಟ್ಟ ಜೈವಿಕ ಉದ್ಯಾನವನಕ್ಕೆ ಶಿಫ್ಟ್ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಇನ್ನುಮುಂದೆ ಉದ್ಯಾನವನಕ್ಕೆ ಭೇಟಿ ನೀಡೋ ಪ್ರವಾಸಿಗರಿಗೆ ಜಿರಾಫೆ ನೋಡುವ ಭಾಗ್ಯ ಸಿಗಲಿದೆ. ಸುಮಾರು 13.5 ಅಡಿ ಎತ್ತರವಿರುವ ಜಿರಾಫೆಯನ್ನ ಬನ್ನೇರುಘಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ರವಾನೆ ಮಾಡುವುದು ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಸವಾಲಿನ ಕೆಲಸವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಕೊನೆಗೂ ವಿಶೇಷ ವಾಹನದ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡಿ, ಮೈಸೂರು ಹಾಗೂ ಬನ್ನೇರುಘಟ್ಟ ಉದ್ಯಾನವನದ ಪಶುವೈದ್ಯರು, ಪ್ರಾಣಿಪಾಲಕರು ಮತ್ತು ಸಿಬ್ಬಂದಿ ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಜಿರಾಫೆ ಸಾಗಿಸುವಲ್ಲಿ ಯಶಸ್ವಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
