Award-winning Dutch filmmaker Marijn Poels was surprised to find his formerly supportive media network that promoted his 50 films made in conflict and poverty countries, were suddenly unwilling to touch the idea that climate change policy and related energy issues could or should be criticised. Poels spoke at Friends of Science 15th Annual Event in Calgary on May 15, 2018. In this interview clip, filmed in Edmonton following a screening at The Garneau, he discusses how important it is to have open, civil debate on climate science and policies in order for society to progress.
