A Jamalpur WDM3A leads the 12338 Bolpur Howrah Shantiniketan through the long curve after Dankuni as the train speeds towards Bally, enroute Howrah. Honking liberally in the process, she meets at Bally a Tatanagar WAM4 which hoots back in return while powering the 18627 Howrah Ranchi Intercity Express (via Asansol). Tatanagar WAM's remain an absolute rarity on Eastern Railways, especially beyond Asansol, and it is courtesy the Ranchi Intercity that we get to see this very colourful species of locomotives thrice a week deep within ER territory. Unfortunately though, she is delayed on this day by around 30 minutes.
