The monsoon made its way on Sunday into several parts of central India and is now expected to reach north India, including capital New Delhi, between June 29 and July 1, according to the Met department. The forward movement of the rain-bearing system started on Saturday after it was stalled for more than 10 days.Meanwhile, before the actual monsoon hits the north, pre-monsoon showers are likely to start in the region on Tuesday or Wednesday, and these may be widespread. On Sunday, the monsoon reached southern parts of Madhya Pradesh and pushed further into Gujarat and Maharashtra.
